One of our passions while traveling and exploring has always been to seek out and discover the cathedrals and churches in the various localities we visit. After we arrived in Toulouse, France in late March 2022, it seemed as though the magnificent Couvent des Jacobins (Convent of the Jacobins) found us as we sort of stumbled upon it on one of our walks around the historic central district as we were trying to get our bearings around Toulouse. This jewel of medieval art consists of a church, a cloister, a chapter house, a refectory, and the chapel Saint-Antonin. Built entirely…
Judy and I arrived in New Mexico by car from California a little over a week ago. Almost from the moment we crossed the border from Arizona into New Mexico we were treated to a sky show consisting of beautiful clouds of all shapes, sizes, and shades of off-white and gray. On our final leg of the journey between Espanola and Taos we caught the tail end of what looked like it must have been a pretty good thunderstorm. As we were driving north on a wet highway 68 a beautiful partial rainbow formed with just a hint of a…
Gazing out of the train window on our recent journey from York to Edinburgh we were awestruck by the magnificence of the railway bridge we were about to cross as we entered the town of Berwick-upon-Tweed from the south. The size of the bridge alone was unlike anything we had ever seen before, and between the bridge’s many arches, the gentle way it curved, and the beauty of the river and town below I thought to myself at the time, “Why aren’t we getting off at this stop to explore and photograph this magnificent structure?”. Well as fate would have…
The gifts traveling has bestowed upon us over the last 2 years have been vast. One of those gifts has led to our passion and photographic documentation of the inspiring, incredibly talented and technically skilled Urban Mural Artists all over the world. Local Street Art has become an art form which we seek out where ever we go, both within and outside the USA. No matter how many murals we see and photograph the next one we encounter still seems to take our breath away. We have been thrilled to share these varied themes and art pieces with our friends,…
I come to your country asking for you to see and judge me by the way I treat and respect you and your country. Judge me by how I acknowledge you and abide by your laws and rules of inclusion, and show my appreciation by hard work for allowing me to dwell in your home, by how I disavow the leaders and radicals of my own country who are doing harm to you and so many people all over the world. This is not me, or any of my friends or family. We abhor violence and extremism and unorthodox methods…
